Narrative Designer and Material Researcher, MullenLowe NOVA 2023 Winner

Elizabeth Ebengo, a narrative designer and material researcher currently based in London, brings a unique blend of expertise to her work. With a background in International Humanitarian and Criminal Law from Leiden University in The Hague, she transitioned from working in development and peace organisations to her current focus on human security through design innovation in humanitarian efforts. Elizabeth’s journey highlights a shift from relying solely on policy and legislation to recognising the power of intentional and empathetic design in providing tangible and sustainable protection for vulnerable populations.

In her role, Elizabeth crafts compelling narratives that inspire action and advocate for justice, woven seamlessly into the products and services she develops for women and children. Now working in humanitarian innovation, she is dedicated to pursuing human security through design, ensuring that her work makes a meaningful impact on the lives of those she serves.

Elizabeth was the winner of the 2023 MullenLowe NOVA Awards with her project project, CONTINUED, which examined the sociocultural cost of adapting to climate change and our complicity in cultural erosion by utilising the capabilities of DNA storage to encrypt a library of sound and film.
